Thank you to all the resident who contribute to Safeparks, we have installed a camera on the corner of 4th avenue and 6th street which is monitored by CORTAC and picks up any suspicious activity entering into Parkhurst. It is our intention to install a few cameras at 2 or 3 other key entry points into Parkhurst in due course.

The following includes crimes reported to us over the period

More details relating to the incidents listed above:
-Theft of a white Ford Ranger, (Registration no: DS60BVGP) occurred on 11th street, 2 suspects were seen by a member of the public who reported the incident to CORTAC.
-Theft of cash occurred on 6th street at the FNB ATM at Shell Garage, victim drew money when 2 coloured males in a white Jetta stopped and grabbed the cash.
-Attempted theft of a white Toyota Yaris occurred on 8th street, unknown suspects stole a laptop, shoes,a handbag,watch and music cds.
– All other incidents were reported directly to SAPS so no further details available except to say that they are NON-CORTAC clients and most are visitors to our 4th avenue restaurant strip.

Parktown North
-Driveway Armed Robbery occurred on 1st avenue east, the victim was followed home from a nearby restaurant, when 2 suspects got out of a white golf (Registration unknown) and demanded the Rolex watch and the car keys, the suspects fled the scene.
– All other incidents were reported directly to SAPS so no further details available except to say that they are NON-CORTAC clients and most are visitors to our 4th avenue restaurant strip.

-Contact Crime is on the rise as seen from this past week, the ROLEX GANG is roaming our streets, please do not wear expensive jewelry and ROLEX watches over this period due to the above incidents.
-There is an increase in common theft along 4th avenue, whereby suspects drive past the restaurants and seek for opportunities to steal cellphones and wallets, please hide these out of sight if you are sitting outside along 4th avenue
– Seems that 2 coloured males have been involved in a few incidents in our suburbs of late with vehicle related crimes, see above, they were involved in grabbing cash from a lady drawing at an ATM, please be on the LOOKOUT  for 2 coloured males in a white JETTA and report to CORTAC CONTROL ROOM immediately- numbers below!
